Best represent Overberg is perhaps Walker Bay, the region is rather small but with a big reputation. Walker Bay snugs between valleys with its back to the ocean. Generally associated as a cooler area of the coastal region, this region is held in high regard for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay selection, just as much as for the fresh and unbending Sauvignon Blanc. With a strong maritime influence, the soils of Walker Bay are perfect for producing world-class wines. Combined with the rising wine industry, the shore city of Hermanos, situated in the center of the province, is predominantly famous for the whales that frequent Walker Bay.
