Seven Apart, incredible wines to watch for
You couldn’t help it but appreciate the attention to details that went into building this winery. If that is any indication of quality and effort that went into crafting these wines, then I’ll be in for a treat. Simple and industrial modern design set the tone throughout my visit, I can’t wait to take a sip of their wines, something I have been anticipating for a while.
At last, a vertical tasting of Expedition 2018, 2019 and 2020 was beautifully presented alongside of a small cheese plate. Spectacular wines, powerful yet polished -certainly not overly fruit-driven like many wines that plagued the valley. Dark fruits laced with spice and a touch of toasted oak, a hind of salted prune set a unique undertone to these wines in a best way possible. Sip after sip, I stopped and wondered, and couldn’t help myself to go for another sip.
The first release was 2018, already Seven Apart has gained popularity among critics, such as Robert Parker as well as Forbes Magazine. It has been awhile since I had the pleasure of enjoying such great wine at a reasonable price. Grab a few bottles to enjoy now or lay them down to impress your guests at a later time, they will age beautifully.
