Darioush Winery – Silverado Trail Napa Valley
Darioush
At the southern end of the Silverado Trail, Darioush rises from the vineyards like a vision of ancient Persia. Founders Darioush and Shahpar Khaledi grew up near Shiraz, Iran, a city long linked with the history of wine, and they built their estate as a tribute to their heritage. Modeled on Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of the Persian Empire, the winery greets guests with sixteen towering columns crowned with sculpted bulls, set before reflecting pools. Its golden travertine was quarried in Iran and cut and polished in Italy before arriving in Napa. Inside, the spirit of Persian hospitality shapes every visit.
The wines are as grand as the setting, and Cabernet Sauvignon sits at their heart. The flagship Signature Cabernet Sauvignon draws on estate vineyards across the valley, including high-elevation volcanic slopes on Mt. Veeder and blocks in Coombsville and Yountville. Together they yield a Cabernet of depth and polish: layers of dark fruit, firm yet velvety tannins and a long, elegant finish. Since opening its doors in 2004, Darioush has become a destination where architecture and wine come together to celebrate culture, craftsmanship and the art of living well.
