Ashes & Diamonds brings a fresh, stylish spirit to the Napa table. Founded in 2014 by former music executive Kashy Khaledi, the winery looks back to the golden age of Napa winemaking in the 1950s through the ’70s, when wines were made with restraint and elegance. Celebrated winemakers Steve Matthiasson and Diana Snowden Seysses craft wines with moderate alcohol, gentle oak and organic, dry-farmed fruit wherever possible. The flagship Cabernet Franc, inspired by the reds of France’s Loire Valley, is bright and savory with notes of red cherry and white pepper. Classic Bordeaux-style reds and a crisp, textured white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon round out the lineup.

That fresh, food-friendly style comes alive at the table. In its sun-washed, mid-century modern winery, the Wines + Food experience is a relaxed, communal lunch inspired by California nouvelle cuisine and served family-style. Seasonal dishes made with fresh ingredients, some kissed by an open flame, arrive alongside a flight of the estate’s wines, each chosen to bring out the best in the food. With its easygoing mood and playful design, it’s one of the valley’s most memorable ways to taste.
