Tasted January 2016

Pauillac is the powerhouse of Bordeaux, with the most First Growth in all of the region.  Wines here are expressive, bolder and more structured.  This 2010 Pauillac well reflects where it comes from.  Lively notes of graphite, burnt cedar, licorice, earth blended with black fruit and plum; medium on the body with pronounced acidity.  Structured tannin but pleasant on a rather short finish.  This wine is with a passing grade at the moment, perhaps, a few more years of age could bring more flavor and balance out of it, drink until 2023.  (17.5/20)
